Well...........since we had been iced in for 3 days I thought I would share what we have been eating.
Let's just say when its cold outside I crave home cooking and the crock pot is the easiest way to make something to snack on all day long! In moderation it isn't all that unhealthy. Just make smart choices when possible like low sodium, low fat milk, turkey and small portion control.
Here is what was on the menu........................
Pork Chops & Rice
4-Boneless Pork Chops
2-Cans Cream of Mushroom Soup
1-Pack Ranch Seasoning
2-Cups Rice
Everything into the crock pot except the rice (add it in for just the last hour or so) Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8.
Nana's Taco Soup
1.5lbs lean ground beef or turkey
Minced Onion
1-Pack Taco Seasoning
2-Cans Pinto Beans
2-Cans Rotel
1-Pack Ranch Seasoning
1-Can Whole Corn (drained)
In a skillet, brown the Beef, Onion, & Taco Seasoning (drain)
Then put everything in the crock pot, Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8.
Mexican Cornbread
2- Boxes of Jiffy Cornbread
Take the left overs from the Taco Soup and drain water in an oven safe dish. Mix cornbread as instructed. Then pour on top of the soup and sprinkle cheese on top. Bake to cornbread instructions.
Red Chile Taco's
2-3lbs- Boneless Beef Roast
1 Pack-Campbell's Slow Cooker Sauces (Mexican Red Chile Taco)
The easiest of all these…..Just follow the instruction on the packet. We had these on tortillas with a little cheese & cilantro. They were pretty awesome!

Pinterest On Parade
So I am sure everyone by now knows about Pinterest? If not then where have you been?
What a great & addicting website for "crafty's" like myself! So at the beginning of the year one of my great friends decided to start our own little Pinterest group to have a little get together every month. What better reason to get with your girlfriends for a few hours on the weekend, right?
So we have had 2 so far, and here is how we run them. We rotate the "host" for the month and that person is in charge of providing the "craft" it can be anything that obviously can be finished in just a few hours.
Then, each person brings a dish, dip, or dessert of a creative recipe for us all to "munch" on during craft time. It has been so much fun! I have been very bad at taking pictures at these function because I am all wrapped up in the fun. :)
Here was my craft from Jan. We did 2 framed pieces.
1) Was a Valentine themed...dry erase board for our hubby's
2) Was an chipboard initial frame
I did manage to take a picture of the dessert I took in Jan. as well.
Mini Cheesecakes from HERE
They did fall a little because I had to rush the cooling time, but still tasted great!
For February we did a painted canvas of our child's birth info. We used stickers, paint, and spray paint. The paint bled under the stickers a little bit, but I like that it gives it that kind of weathered look.
Next month I am hosting the party and still thinking of what craft we will do. I have a few ideas :)

Cocktail Hour-Happy Friday
Since its Friday, I thought it would be a great time for an adult beverage recipe for Halloween!
And don't forget.....Drink Responsibly!
Ginger Candy Apple Tini Recipe
3.5 oz Absoult Brooklyn Vodka( ginger apple flavor) brand new to the market
1.5 oz Dekuyper apple
.5 oz Dekuyper butterscotch schnapps
Line the inside of the martini glass with caramel syrup.
Garnished with a caramel apple slice
I am usually not the one for sweet drinks, but this sounds good.....I'm a sucker for ginger! The hubs and I are having date night this weekend....and this would be great sipping by the fire on this cold weekend.
Ya'll have a great one!
